Assume The Best

Here at ATB, we have a tradition that spans the months of highlighting a missionary on Fridays to give them a boost.

Today I have the privilege of turning your attention to Lindsey Hendrix. We crossed paths in Sweden on a couple of different occasions, and I can testify that she is legit. We also spent a summer in Santa Cruz, CA, and Jacqueline and her lead a Bible Study together.

I’ll let this well-done video tell you the rest of the story.

Thanks for your faithfulness, Linds.

If starting well and having good intentions were lucrative, I’d be a millionaire by now. I am currently in the middle of designing a website, in the middle of reading at least 4 books, just starting out in two new jobs, just moved to a new apartment, and [read the rest by clicking here…]

I lie to the first 35 people I see every day.

Here’s how it goes, see if you can spot the lie:

I started this story last week.

When I left off from telling the story, I had established LB (my 2.5-year-old) as having gotten the attention of everybody in the room. Soon afterwards, Corey (our pastor) called us forward to officially take our membership vows.

I think that’s what we ended up doing, but looking back [read the rest by clicking here…]

Gospel Propaganda.

April 20, 2011

Everything seems more authoritative when an expressive man with dreadlocks says it.

Favorite line?

This is us: Heap up your good deeds.
Chant.
Pray.
Meditate.
All of that of course is spraying cologne on a corpse. Or you could choose to ignore it, as if something don’t stink.

Great stuff. Hat tip to Bobby for linking to this on twitter.

“So, I’m supposed to hold him, and keep him relatively quiet while we stand up in front of the whole church?”

“Yes”

“We’re all aware that he’s two, right?”

That’s an approximation of the conversation that went down before [read the rest by clicking here…]
